On Thursday, April 11th, 2013, Sheriff's Deputies from the Reedsport Sub-Station responded to a report of a burglary and theft of motor vehicle from the International Paper Mill in Gardiner, Oregon. It was learned the suspects had entered into the property during the night, and stole tools from the mill. They then stole a pick-up truck at the scene, loaded up the stolen tools into the stolen pick up and left the scene by crashing through a fence. Deputies conducted an investigation over the course of the day and developed information that the suspects were James Wiggins and Julie Neuharth. While the Deputies were conducting follow up on the case, the stolen vehicle was spotted traveling on Highway 101. The vehicle was stopped by police on Highway 101, in Gardiner. James Wiggins and Julie Neuharth, who were the occupants of the vehicle were both arrested. During the arrest Deputies found unlawfully possessed prescription medications as well as methamphetamine. Some of the stolen tools were recovered, but most were not. The investigation is continuing. Anyone having information about this case is asked to contact the Douglas County Sheriff's Office.
