Vehicle: 1993 Honda Accord 4 door

On April 16, 2014, at about 0840 hours, the 911 center received a call from an adult male stating he was following his 1993 Honda Accord that had been reported stolen to the Roseburg Police Department on April 14th.

The victim followed his vehicle south on I-5 to exit 112, and then north on Old Hwy 99 South back towards Winston. A Winston Police Officer located and stopped the vehicle near Willis Creek Road and Brockway Road.

The operator and only occupant of the vehicle, Joshua Crossley, was detained briefly but then fled on foot towards the South Umpqua River. Crossley jumped into the river and crossed to the other side. He was taken into custody a short time later with the assistance of a Roseburg Police K9 unit.

Crossley was lodged in the county jail on charges of Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle, Possession of a Stolen Vehicle, Interferring with a Police Officer, Attempt to Elude on Foot and Parole Violation.

Roseburg Police, Myrtle Creek Police, Winston Police and Oregon State Police all assisted on the incident.
