On May 27, 2014, at about 2205 hours, Sheriff's deputies responded to two reported robbery incidents that had just occurred in Drain.

The first incident involved a 17 year old male that was walking home from his girlfriend's house. He was contacted by three subjects who were later identified as Thomas Finney, Christopher Snyder and Breanna Smith, on the footbridge at Gardner Street in Drain. Finney was wearing a gas mask and was armed with a pistol. The subjects demanded all of the victim's belongings. The victim only had a cell phone which they made him throw into the creek. The victim was released unharmed.

The second incident occurred near Cedar Street and Applegate Avenue. A 15 year old male was walking home with several friends when he was approached by a subject wearing a gas mask (Finney). Finney punched the victim in the face several times and then demanded the victim's wallet. Finney took the victim's wallet out of the victim's pocket. The victim was then instructed to run away.

At about 2345 hours, deputies contacted Snyder and Smith at their residence on Beech Street in Drain. Snyder was lodged in the county jail on First Degree Robbery and Third Degree Theft charges. Smith was cited and released on the same charges.

On May 28, at about 0415 hours, deputies located Finney hiding in a shed in the 100 block of A Street in Drain. Deputies seized a 22 caliber revolver and gas mask. Finney was lodged in the county jail on First Degree Robbery, Third Degree Theft, Felon in Possession of a Weapon, Unlawful Use of a Firearm, Menacing and Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine charges.
